IT Band Syndrome

Three things we believe that most clinics don't practice.

Physical therapy has a reputation for being passive — ultrasound, hot packs, a sheet of exercises. We built Mend around the opposite idea: that a skilled clinician's hands and clear communication are still the most powerful tools in the room.

01

We assess the whole pattern, not just the painful part.

Your knee pain might live in your hip. Your neck tension might start at your thoracic spine. Every session begins with finding where movement is actually breaking down — and that's rarely where it hurts.

02

Hands-on work, not just exercise handouts.

Manual therapy, dry needling, joint mobilization, myofascial release — our practitioners use their hands to change tissue behavior before asking your body to move differently. The exercises come after the tissue is ready to accept them.

03

We tell you what we find, in plain language.

You'll leave the first session understanding your diagnosis, why it happened, and a realistic timeline. No vague reassurances. No 'let's see how it goes.' You deserve to know exactly what's going on in your own body.

— Every patient, eventually

What happens when you walk through the door.

No clipboard of exercises waiting for you. No generic ultrasound. Sixty minutes of a practitioner's full, undivided attention — and a plan you actually understand.

01

We listen. Completely.

Tell us everything — when it started, what makes it worse, what you've tried, what your doctor said, what you're afraid of. We take notes. We don't interrupt. By the time we touch you, we already have a hypothesis.

60-minute initial evaluation
02

We find the actual source.

Movement screening, manual palpation, neurological testing when relevant — we're looking for the breakdown in the chain, not just the loudest symptom. You'll see exactly what we find and why it matters.

Comprehensive movement analysis
03

You leave knowing what's next.

A realistic timeline. A treatment approach with your schedule in mind. Answers to the questions you forgot to ask. And a direct line to your practitioner between sessions — because bodies don't respect office hours.

Clear diagnosis & timeline
